In order to foster secondary school students’ interest in prose and essay writing, enhance their literacy skills and promote traditional Chinese culture, the Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology and College of International Education have established the Writing Competition for Secondary School Students.
A seminar on “Appreciation and creation of classical Chinese poetry” has been held on 13 November 2015. The seminar was hosted by Dr Meng Fei (Research Associate, JAS) and conducted by Dr Cheng Yuhei (Research Associate, JAS). Dr. Cheng focuses his research studies in linguistics and philology. He is also a renowned writer of classical Chinese poetry. He has published many poems and several poem collections.
