The Fifth "Jao Link Sharing", co-organized by Shandong University and the Jao Link, was held at Shandong University from November 28 to 30, 2025. The event brought together approximately 40 representatives from over 20 member institutions of the Jao Link, along with 10 academic organizations including the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Sichuan University, Tianjin Academy of Social Sciences, and Shandong Provincial Library, to share and discuss the latest research achievements and insights in Jao Studies.
Professor Adam Schwartz, Associate Director of the Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology, delivered a presentation titled "Rooted in Hong Kong, Bridging the World: The Internationalization of Jao Studies at the Jao Tsung-I Academy of Sinology." He provided a systematic overview of the Academy’s series of academic activities and publications. Professor Schwartz emphasized that the Academy leverages Hong Kong’s unique position as an international cultural hub to globalize Jao Studies through organizing international forums, publishing multilingual scholarly works on Jao Studies, and fostering cross-cultural academic exchanges.
On the same afternoon, the Sharing featured a special “Jao Tsung-i and Chinese Culture” academic symposium. Experts and scholars engaged in in-depth discussions on two thematic panels: “Jao Studies” and “Chinese Studies,” exploring Professor Jao Tsung-i’s scholarly origins, intellectual framework, academic ethos, and interdisciplinary achievements.
